25-01-2012 - Battlefield 3 R19 Patch
DICE has just released the Battlefield 3 R19 patch. This patch introduces some stability and bugfix improvements over the R17 patch.
Changelog:
- Fixed the most common server crash. The story behind this one is fairly convoluted.
When a player begins the process of joining a server, the server will begin buffering some kinds of information in anticipation of the player completing the loading & joining phase. However, players sometimes get stuck in the loading screen. This makes the server buffer more and more info for that player. A side effect of this is a temporary resource leak in the game server. The leak is immediately restored if the server changes map, or the player completes loading, or the player shuts down the game client. However if a player manages to remain stuck for 30+ minutes in loading on a server with lots of activity and the server doesn’t end the round, then the server could run out of the particular resource – it would then crash.
The new server version will forcibly disconnect clients which are threatening to exhaust that particular resource. With this change in place, we do not know of anything that would make high-ticket servers less stable than normal-ticket servers.
- Long banlists will not crash the server.
The banlist supports up to 10.000 entries now.
The banList.list command has been modified to return at most 100 entries at a time (similar to how BC2 PC’s banList.list command works).
Any administrative tools will need to be updated to be able to see more than the first 100 entries.

We at Darworld have the same policy towards cheaters and therefor we have our own anti cheat system on our servers. We discovered in our log files the added value of this system because DICE missed a cheater but we didn't! If you got banned for cheating and you disagree, let us know. We will examine the logfiles and maybe we decide to give you a second chance. We do publish cheaters' id's (PB/EA) to other servers.

11-01-2012 - Battlefield 3 R17 Server Released, DICE Cracking Down on Cheating
DICE released a server side update today (R17) for Battlefield 3, which fixes several cheat exploits allowing hackers to mass kill players. A post on the Battlefield Blog states they have banned a batch of several hundred confirmed cheaters recently and will continue to hunt down cheaters. DICE reminds players that you can go to a suspected cheaters profile on Battlelog and click the report button marked by a triangle with an exclamation mark.
We at Darkworld have extra anti cheat tools running.
09-01-2012 - Anti cheat code
You might not believe it but the admins at Darkworld are humans too and humans make mistakes. One of them is to tune the anti-cheat code too tight. That means some gamers got banned but we provide in the ban message a webpage so people can appeal.
See here two appeals and try to decide which one will be unbanned.

We at Darkworld thank you for gaming at our servers. We decided to change our 16 players server to Squad Deathmatch. Just to please our gamers. We also want to know what maps you like on our 64 players server! A poll will follow soon.
19-12-2011 - Battlefield 3 R16 Patch
DICE has just released the Battlefield 3 R16 patch. This patch introduces some stability improvements over the R15 patch and is mandatory installed on all game instances.
We installed the Back to Karkand map pack because we at Darkworld use the latest tools/maps. However we've noticed a drop in the number of players so we decided to temp. remove the Karkand pack. We listen to our gamers.

Fixed a problem where player who joined queuing on End of round got spawn screen stuck on screen, but unable to do anything with it untill next round loaded

Fixed for surveillance ribbon not counting TUGS

Balance Tweaks
Fixed several weapons so they are properly suppressed and hide the player on the minimap when fired.

Reduced heat masking effectiveness of Spec Ops Camo.
Fixed a bug where Ammo spec would give additional 40mm grenades instead of Frag spec.
Increased the number of additional 40mm grenades from Frag spec.
Fixed so AT mines only live for 20 seconds after a player dies to prevent infinite mines. (We want to make a different fix in the future, it’s in JIRA).
Increased the Time to Live on sniper caliber rounds to allow extreme distance shots.
Fixed several weapon descriptions, calibers, and fire rates. The weapons themselves have not changed.
Fixed so the M9 and MP443 pistol can be equipped by the opposing faction when it is unlocked at 100 kills.
Fixed Laser Guided Missiles missing their targets if the target is moving too fast.
Reduced the effectiveness of Stealth on Air Vehicles.
Reduced the effectiveness of Beam Scanning for Jets.
Reduced the damage done to Armored Vehicles and Infantry from AA guns.
Increased the damage RPGs and Tank shells do to AA vehicles.
Slightly decreased the accuracy for all weapons on fully automatic, burst fire is now preferable at mid to long range.
Increased the effective accuracy of long bursts for LMGs when using a bipod.
Slightly increased the range of the 44magnum bullets.
Increased the close range damage of 4.6x30mm and 5.7x28mm bullets.
Increased the reload time of the Mortar from 3.5sec to 4.8sec and increased the time it takes before a shell hits the ground.
Reduced the aimed accuracy bonus given by a Suppressor for the MP7, P90, PP2000, PP-19, and UMP45.
Increased the range and FOV for designating targets with the SOFLAM and vehicle Laser Designators.
Decreased the effectiveness of 12g FRAG ammo when equipped on semi-automatic and automatic shotguns.
Slightly Increased the power of Fighter Jet Cannons against all vehicle targets, especially Helicopters.
Decreased the power of Miniguns against Jets and Helicopters.
Increased the power of Stingers against Jets.
Flares reload times for Jets and Helicopter Gunners have been increased.
Tweaked the AN94 so its burst fire better conveys the real world advantage offered by this weapon.
Added Single Shot to the AN94 as an available fire mode.
Slightly increased the recoil on the M416 and removed the Burst Fire mode (this weapon incorrectly had burst fire, which was not authentic).
Tweaked the spawns for TDM on Kharg Island, Grand Bazaar, Caspian Border, Seine Crossing, Operation Firestorm, Damavand Peak and Noshahar Canals
Moved a tank spawn in US base on Caspian Border so it would not be destroyed by a falling tree
Tweaked the Gas station Capture area on Conquest on Caspian Border
Tweaked the max vehicle height on Noshahar Canals

Also, it will once again be possible to reduce the number of players required to start a round to 1 both in ranked and unranked mode. We changed it back after getting a lot of negative feedback from both individuals and the RSP companies.
Our plan for the future is to introduce a warm-up mode, where players can move about and play the game, but with scoring disabled; then, when the number of players goes above the threshold -- that's when the real round starts. :

According to leading game monitor gametracker.com our server ranked up from place 11196 to a whopping 846th!
All our admins are laid back and fair and this combined with our realism settings and our blazing fast connections makes the players return to our servers. But what is an ass kicking game server without players? Exactly.. nothing. So we at Darkworld salute you:

- Wake Island looks smaller or the airfield now takes up a good part of the North arm
- Wake Island has five capturable points
- Strike at Karkand has seven points to capture (one point was lost across the river)
- Gulf of Oman has seven (same as the original)
- Sharqi Peninsula gained one more capturable point
- Buildings and structures have been ported, for example: the TV station on Sharqi Peninsula
